Having just come back from a week stay, I can honestly say that I never slept in a more comfortable bed or had such a relaxing time. The breakfast just keeps coming and coming and the coffee drunk from a bowl was a new experience! a beautiful pool out on the deck in 40c temperatures was very welcome and the subterranean vaulted pool for actual exercise was a lovely novelty. Corine and Thierry are just a joy and both have impeccable English so making it all very stress free. I will tell everyone about this wonderful place!
Ursula Arnold, Swansea, Wales - July 2015

Dear Corine and Thierry, Thank you for a wonderful stay earlier this month in your beautiful home. We had THE most relaxing time .....enjoying the pool ( both of them), the delicious breakfasts and the endless stories from Thierry. Our room (the Mélomanes) was just perfect with a fabulous shower and view over the vineyard. You made our stay in France very special and we hope to return (maybe to the bus! Who knows!) Thanks again and we have also done a trip advisor (not guest advisor Thierry! :) review.
Tim & Claire Cassidy, Little Kimble, UK - July 2015

Just thought we'd say thank you for our short stay at your lovely guesthouse. The family room was perfect for our us and our two little ones - probably the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! The kids loved the hot chocolate at breakfast, especially drinking it "French style". Travel tips were most appreciated and we had a couple of good days out in the sun. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break, either as a base for the surrounding area or just lounging around for a couple of days. Thanks,
John & Bex Brunyee, Cambridge, UK - April 2015

Our stay at this magnificient former priory with quite a history was truly soothing for our "big-city-nerves". At first I feared it would be too calm for all the beauty of the place and its sorroundings but our gracious hosts made sure it never was. With their gentle care and attention, both to us guests and to detail, we were made to feel at home right from the start. In this I include the family pets that seemed to have engulfed the spirit of the place, friendly but never bothersome. I must also mention the matresses we slept on. Never have I slept in such an excellent bed (no, really!), part spring matress, part waterbed! And each night ended with an excellent breakfast, served either in the beatiful country kitchen or out on the veranda, as the wheather allowed. I must also share how sweet Thiery appealed to an old busdrivers heart when he revved up the the old diesel in that gorgeous Bus of theirs. This is a marvellous place that I and my family can recommend with all our hearts.
Anders Jonsson, Stockolm, Sweden - August 2014

A very relaxing B&B or Gite/s. We rented the latter and enjoyed a tranquil setting just outside Le Luc and just over an hour away from the beaches west of St Tropez. The pool was of a reasonable size and the accommodation was spacious and clean with a typical rustic charm. Our hosts were welcoming without being overbearing.
Tripadvisor - 08/13

This wonderfully interesting house has a really lovely atmosphere. The pool in the cave is a particularly special feature, we spent lots of time there chilling out in the warm relaxing water. There is no plastic, its all in natural materials and the feeling of peace is truly special.
Our room was also lovely and the bed extremely comfortable, a new experience for us as it is a memory foam and water construction. I want one!!! The "La Grande Lauzade" is a gem and i will recommend it to anyone.
Steve & Greta, Brentwood - 12/13

We stopped here en route between Nice and Aix, fabulous setting with incredible history. Thierry and Corine and their children were very welcoming, the rooms were perfect for a family of five (inter connecting). Breakfast was delicious with home made jams, Thierry told us the history of the place which has been in Corine's family for years - fascinating. The pool and setting are all magical. This is a truly magical place and we would definitely return and recommend. The King family,

What a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful home, gardens, bedrooms and pools. The hosts were extremely nice! Cannot wait to visit again one day soon.
Giulia Mobarhan, Evanston - 06/13

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in La Grande Lauzade in July/August. Corine & Thierry made us feel so welcome in their stunning home, always there to advise us when needed. We used La Grande as our base as we toured the south of france on our Harley travelling to St Tropez, Monte Carlo and Monaco, Nice, Cannes returning each evening to our lovely room. We stayed in their Estanci room which was huge, furnished with beautiful traditional French furniture, with air-conditioning and their superb mattresses we were able to have the most comfortable nights sleep even though the temperatures were high! If you want to eat in the local restaurants you are better driving to them (just 5 mins along the road), we tried walking, which was fine while it was light, but a little daunting walking back to the b&b (both Corine and Thierry did warned us), due to the lack of footpaths or street lighting along a very fast road (but this is the countryside, so to be expected). We used to have our main meal wherever we were touring that day, then pick up a few snacks and a bottle of wine to eat back at our b&b. The b&b is set off the road and is so peaceful and quiet, it is an ideal place to chill out after a day of touring. We had a day off from the touring one day and lounged around the stunning pool which was wonderful. Breakfast was served each morning on the terrace which included a variety of homemade fruit juices, homemade breads, homemade jams and homemade yogurt all made by Corine, I enjoyed your homemade yoghurt so much i have tried to make it myself which im finding pretty tricky, care to share your recipe and method Corine? please? It was so nice to sit and chat with other guests during breakfast and find out where they were from and where they were visiting, once again Thierry was there to help, as we spoke very little French. You will be pleased to know Thierry, we come home to England and have started a French course, so we will be better prepared for our next trip to France! I would like to say a huge thank you to both Corine and Thierry for making our first stay in France so welcoming and we would certainly recommend staying here. Thank you.
Tripadvisor - 09/12

Dear Corine and Thierry, thanks for the great hospitality, we had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed our stay very much. La Grande Lauzade is a beautiful, peaceful location, with endearing residents (including the Owners, the Pony, the dog and the cats :-)), I miss it already... die Essener
Suzanne Stemmer, D - 08/12

Corine & Thierry, Thank you for your friendly hospitality during our recent stay at your lovely house in Le Luc. We miss the delicious French cuisine and laid back lifestyle of southern France. Hoping to return one day to sip rose on your patio. Hope Thierry likes the attached photo.

Steve Crawley, GB - 07/12

Hi there My wife and I had a lovely stay with you ten days ago. Very comfortable, friendly and good atmosphere. The water bed very comfortable. Thank you.
Charles and Sarah Puxley, London, GB - 06/12

La Grande Lauzade is a wonderful and unique place to stay. Corine & Thierry are wonderful hosts and they recommended one of the most brilliant restaurants we visited on our trip. The food was brilliant. We were travelling by car and this is the only real way to get around.
Angela Franks - 04/12

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Le Petit Fermier. We found the house and pool particulary relaxing and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The glamorous coast is not to far away and Notre Dame des Anges to the south is worth the climb up for the wonderful views. We would certainly recommend staying here.
Miles and Tilly - 08/11

Thank you for a wonderful stay at La Grande Lauzade. The gite was perfect for us and our two children (8 and 2). Our son Thomas loved the swimming pool and our daughter loved the swings and slide and all the animals. It was a great base to explore the area and we had a great afternoon canoing at Le Thoronet. We also visited the beaches and enjoyed swimming in the lovely warm, clean sea. We would definitely visit again if we are planning a holiday in Provence.
Kerry Young - 08/11

Hello Thiery & Corine,
Thankyou for your email. This is to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely historic home. We really appreciated the space in our very large bedroom and en suite bathroom ,very clean and with very comfortable beds. Thank you for being such welcoming, easy-going hosts who made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. We did enjoy Thierry taking time out of his busy schedule to share his anecdotes and jokes with us and Corine was very helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area. Two other things remain in our memory- your 2 exceptionally well behaved dogs and the lovely shady sitting out areas in front of the house and by the pool. Small wonder we had such an enjoyable stay.
With kind regards and many thanks,
Frank & Jean Gadsdon - 08/11

What a lovely place, run by such warm and welcoming people! A real find, and a great final stop on our way back to Italy and then England. Merci infiniment, Diego and Steve, IT - 08/11

Thank you for a very pleasant stay at la Grande Lauzade. We were very satisfied with everything - the atmosphere of the whole place, the clean, quiet and comfortable room and the friendliness of the hosts! And Corinne's homemade yoghurt made a lasting impression. Best regards
Per and Hanne Følner - Copenhagen, Denmark. - 07/11

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautiful home. We really liked the apartment. It was excellent for our needs. We hope that next time it may be for a longer period. The fresh bread and croissants in the morning was very nice. All the best
The Bourbonnais Family - 07/11

Dear Thierry and Corine, just a short note of greetings from Lowestoft in the UK.
I think that I'm correct in remembering that today is the first anniversary of the terrible storm that hit Provence in June 2010. You may remember that Chris and I were your guests at the time.
I would just like to take the opportunity to say that we still remember and talk about your kindnesses towards us when we were ffectively "trapped" in your house by the storm. We also remember the destruction that was caused in your area and in particular the poor people who lost their lives in the episode. We would like to think that a good recovery has been made over the last year, although we know that the friends and relatives of those who were lost will always have bad memories of that time.
We hope that both of you are well, and also Lou-Anne and Lilian, and that your business is thriving.
Dave & Chris Millett

Wonderful experience - relaxing, peaceful with helpful and friendly hosts to make you welcome. Lovely pool setting. Le Fermier was very well equipped. Thanks to the instructions as to how to get there we ha no problems. Would go back to enjoy more of Provence.
Wendy Parkinson - 07/11

A wonderful stay! Not only a great base to visit many lovely places, Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez etc, but also ideal to spend time relaxing with the friendly and accommodating Thierry and Corine. The dogs are just gorgeous and the 22 year old cat always has something to say! A perfect stay.
Faye Knill - Wombourne - 04/11

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at La Grande Lauzade. Magnificent weather helped. Hosts Corinne and Thierry were gracious and petits dejeuner on the patio were excellent. The four legged hosts also made us feel very much at home. Convenient to site seeing and good restaurants nearby rounded out this part of our holiday in the south of France. Room was pleasant and comfortable. Good value for money spent.
Barry Applebee - 09/10

We were pleasantly surprised when we were shown our room (Estanci) at Grande Lauzade. It was a great size and we really loved the decor and so clean that you felt you could eat off the floor. In fact, we don't think the photos do the room justice. There was great attention to detail; every item in the room felt like it had been selected with care, we loved being able to have music in the room and there was a lovely selection of local body products in the bathroom. I also loved the cast iron bath tub. The room was the entire length of the building so the flow of air was really lovely - from the bathroom window through to the window in the bedroom which was shaded by the beautiful trees at the front of the house...and such a lovely house.
Distinct from other places where we stayed in France, you really do feel like you are sharing Corine and Thierry's home. When you have lovely hosts like Corine and Thierry this is a real attraction, their children are charming and their presence really adds to the feel of this bed and breakfast. Their home has a wonderful atmosphere and we found that we were late getting away each day because we were so comfortable sitting over our breakfast out in the garden each day. We wished that we had more time to spend lazing in and around that wonderful pool with a view!
While Le Luc isn't the most convenient position it has the benefit of being relatively free of tourists and it is still a short drive to the wonderful villages in the region. We were actually quite happy with the location and being able to return to the oasis that is Grande Lauzade each afternoon.
While we were a couple, this would also be a perfect place also for families.
Thanks again Corine and Thierry for welcoming us in your home. We wish you and your family all the best!
Jenny and Max (from Australia and Italy) - 08/10

Hello Corine and Thierry and family!
We enjoyed our stay at your house in the Provence very much, especially we enjoyed being at the pool, having wonderful breakfast, playing billiard in the house, watching DVDs in our room, going to the beach or market place in the surrounding areas! The sun was shining every day, no rain but beautiful sunshine all 13 days of our stay!
You, Corine and Thierry were very friendly to us and we enjoyed fellowship with you! Our son Simon loved to play with your children und with the cats! And the dog was very peaceful!
Your recomendations of the restaurants were very helpful, especially the one nearby to your house was great, for 18 euros per person we ate a wonderful menue! Also your recomendations about what to do, where to go, were a big help and we were very grateful for that! Now we wish you a good time and it would be great to hear from you or to see you again sometime! Best regards,
Markus, Judith and Simon from Zollikerberg, Switzerland - 08/10

We have a lovely time at 'la grande lauzade.' We stayed in a few places during our stay in France and this was by far our favorite! Pool was lovely, hosts were very friendly and the place had a real homely feel. Would definately recommend it.
Nikki Barnett - Halifax, GB - 07/10

Yes.! We loved La Grande Lauzade, but then, we have stayed in 15-20 of Sawday's selected places and they are always brilliant. We live in Spain, these days, but we travel a good deal. This time, we drove from Alicante, up to Barcelona, where we stayed with Montserrat and her husband, Matteu in their great house, Can Rosich. Wonderful! We then drove through the South of France and down to Naples, where we caught a ferry to the Island of Ischia. One of the highlights was our 2 night stay at La Grande Lauzade, where we stayed in the huge, attic room. The breakfast was fantastic, with home made yoghourt and even the bread was sourced from a local, wholefood baker. Delightful! The town of Le Luc is very well placed. We had an exciting drive over the mountains to Port Grimaud on our first morning. In the evenings, we dined very well, very close to our stopping place. It doesn't seem right to call La Grande Lauzade a "B & B," because it was a pleasure and a privilege to stay there. The antique furniture, freely used in every room, was a great bonus.
Paddy and Merrial Weston - 07/10

I had a great stay ad your house. You were very kind en friendly. I had a nice room, with airco and a big bathroom. Overall great! Kind regards,
Frits Wernsen -Oosterbeek, NL - 08/10

Hi Corine & Thierry
Thank you very much for your hospitality last week at La Grande Lauzade. It was the most perfect place to relax and Kate and I cannot think of a place that we would rather have been staying when we got engaged.
Best wishes
Red Johnson - 07/10

Dear Corine and Thierry, Just wanted to thank you for your gracious hospitality during our stay at your guest house. As you know, we used your accommodation as a base to travel to the AGS F1 track day and to explore the Provence region. Before arriving, we were looking forward to a holiday that would allow us to experience the beautiful French countryside... and that is exactly what we got. The guys appreciated the amazing history of your house, the never-ending vineyards and the rolling hills of the surrounding area. Thanks to Corine also for recommending some great sights that we travelled to like Moustiers Ste. Marie, Gorges du Verdon and Trigance. All in all a very enjoyable and memorable stay. We hope to one day return and re-live it! Take care and best wishes!!!
Ken Theo - AU- 06/10

Though our stay was short, we had a very nice time at La Grande Lauzade. Room was large and very comfortable, as was the bathroom. The proprietors are wonderful people. They were very attentive and responsive to our needs. Very charming property.
Raymond Cohen - usa - 07/10

Dear Corine and Thierry, Just like three years ago we had a wonderful weekend again at La Grande Lauzade. You are fabulous hosts. And we had the most relaxing breakfast. Delicious bread and yoghurt and fruit juices. Excellent! Please let us know what happened to the turtle that we saw on your terrace. See you next time!
Casper & Myrle Haarlem - NL - 06/10

Hello Thierry & Corine,
Just a brief response to let you know that Chris and I enjoyed our stay in your house very much. It was a great change for us because, as I previously told you, our recent trips to France have involved staying in Ibis, Campanile and so on................They have no character, any of them could be anywhere, whilst your house was hugely full of the great character associated with a very old building. We enjoyed the chance to explore the region and sample some of the great tastes of Provence.
I don't usually submit reviews of hotels but there's a particular reason on this occasion. La Grande Lauzade offers a very agreeable base to explore Provence but not necessarily the beautiful but crowded coast. (an easy and scenic drive away). The house as you would expect from its age has huge character, and the hosts Corine and Thierry are welcoming and attentive, "assisted" by little Lou-Anne and Lilian. On the morning of Tuesday 15th June 2010, I saw on TV a weather alert for South East France. My wife Chris, and I, the only guests at the time, took breakfast on the patio as normal. A while later it rained. This developed into a violent electrical storm with torrential rain which continued for many hours. (420mm+ reported from Le Luc). It became obvious that to leave the house would be unsafe and by mid-day it was evident that what to us was a minor inconvenience, to our hosts was a personal emergency, and to Var and Provence, a Regional disaster. We could see the local effects with the car park a lake, and the small access lane from the road, a raging torrent. Later we became aware that the property damage in the region was very severe and that there had been many fatalities, especially in Draguignan. The purpose of this note is not to deter visitors. We were very impressed by the way in which we were assisted by our hosts despite their having to confront an emergency. If any potential visitor is having doubts due to the recent storms, we would say, "go! You'll be in good hands".
We found it a great pleasure to meet you both and also little Lou Anne and Lilian, and we were very pleased that we weren't eaten by Tempo! Best wishes,
Dave and Chris Millett - Lowestoft, UK - 06/10

We had a great stay at La Grande Lauzade and the beds are perfect! A good rest for us, great service and friendly people to stay with! Thank you again!
Michiel - NL - 03/10

The reason we're coming can be summarised quite simple in two words "Formula One" :). A couple of the boys are F1 fans so we're going to watch the race in Monaco and then we'll come straight after to Le Luc Province as we are doing a driving day with AGS. We saw your guest house as one of recommended ones by AGS and when I researched your web site I was really impressed by the beauty of the French countryside and the history of your building. I have to say you guys did a really good job in presenting your beautiful guest house on your website... not many other sites have as much English content as you do which was great for me to understand what the La Grande Lauzade experience is all about. So I'm looking forward to meeting up with you and your family when we arrive on 16th May. Wishing you a great day!
Merci, Ken Teoh, Australia - 02/10

We have had very beautiful days, in old House with many charm, and with a very kindly family. We haved sleep very well in a large room and the breakfast was supreme. Thierry and Corrine and their family are very kindly, and the place is nice. Thank you for the very nice holidays, we will come back.

We recently returned from our travels in France and Italy. We can say with absolute certainty that our time spend with you was the best! We also recommend your B & B for people who have an interest in experiencing a little French family life; we so enjoyed meeting you, your children, and your pets. Let me not forget to add your organic breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed the fire place; we so loved your house and the romantic feel that it offered. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We hope to visit with you someday again. Best Heart Felt Wishes,

Charming guesthouse! We were very pleasantly welcomed in this lovely house. The owners are positively charming and the facilities are excellent. Our rooms were large and very comfortable indeed and breakfast out on the terrace always served with a smile. Delicious breakfast with lovely breads and croissants (bio) and yummy jams! Definitely a thumbs-up!!! Hope to visit again one day. Merci encore pour votre gentillesse. Nous étions très heureuse et j'éspère un jour de retourner.....
Meilleures salutations,

Ever You ever dreamt about living as God in France? You definitively have to go to La Grande Lauzade…. Sleeping in a beautiful Land House…. Taking Breakfast outside under the trees with an astonishing view on the Maure Mountains… Swimming in a beautiful pool in the middle of the Vineyards… Drinking Rose with the owners who tell you wonderful stories about the history of the property… Talking to the cat that comes to greet you in the morning… Definitively something you need to do…it puts your life in perspective!
Paul Vanbeveren - B - 07/09

Hi Corine and Thierry,
We had a more fantastic time at La Grande Lauzade. It was perfect for a relaxing family vacation. We hope to come back one day. Thanks,
Nele & Mason - USA - 07/09

NDLR: Thanks to you to have spend some holiday time to fix our second wifi network !! Thierry.

La Grand Lauzade, Thierry, Corine, and their delightful children are a paradise representing a quality and era in France that is quickly disappearing. I have lived or rented in Provence and the Var for over fifteen years, and was delighted and warmed that a wonderful place like this still exists. The grounds are beautiful and private, the pool is wonderful and the Mas is beautiful. The room was a rare treat of wonderful antiques and momentos of turn of the century France. It is so rare to find an airconditioned room in this part of the world, which was a real treat. The morning breakfasts sitting on a wonderful terrace over looking the pool, at a large table with other interesting guests complete with what France is famous for in bakery goods. Thierry is a delightful warm host speaking many languages and a wonderful story teller. The surrounding villages and restaurants are matching in their charm and friendliness, and it is very close to the older part of the mediterranean, so the original charm is still intact and not over run with tourists. Of all the places I have stayed, I would return and return to La Grand Lauzade and its elegance and warmth. It truly is experiencing the happiness of a wonderful family in a beautiful setting, yet allowing one the discretion and privacy required.
This is a five star for certain.
John Chaloner, USA - 07/09

Hi Corine & Thierry, Many thanks for your hospitality during our stay at your Accomodation. We really enjoyed our time spent there and can only say positive things about it. The children enjoyed the pool and table tennis, along with the use of your bicycles. They would love to return there again, which is always a good indication when children are happy. Also, a special thank you to Corine for making us some of her homemade yoghurt, it was decilious !! We would hope to return to visit you again in the near future. ps...... Thierry, we have had a look at your website and are well impressed with your musical talent. It is only a pity that we were not in the area for your concert this week, we would have loved to hear you live ! Bon Chance! Au revoir
Marion, Lutz , Conor & Lara, DUBLIN /IRELAND - 07/09

Thanks to Thierry and Corine and family for a fanastic time at their beautiful home. The room [ Magnotis] was clean and comfortable with lovely views from the bathroom over the vinyards. This is a lovely location if you like peace and tranquility interspersed with great hospitality and warmth from the hosts. Thierry serves up a simple delicious breakfast and interacts with humour with all the guests. He kept his musical talents hidden until one evening he disappeared to play a gig at a near by venue, Corine apparently sings, we look forward to hearing you next time!! The wedding we attended was also brilliant so we took so many fond memories away from this region of Provence. We thoroughly recommend this venue and hope to return soon, love also to Lou Anne and the new baby! Great people, Corine and Thierry thankyou
Sheena and Phil, London - 07/09

Best regards, Andy Von Ow

Hi - Sorry we didn't get a chance to say good bye. We had a wonderful time and you have a beautiful place.
Hope the baby is very well. Thank you very much for your suggestions;we did go to the Verdon and rafted in the river and was one of the highlights of our trip. all the best!
Claudia - 09/08

We had a wonderful stay at La Grande Lauzade. The room (and indeed the rest of the house) was beautiful, spotless and peaceful. Thierry, Corine and family were all we could have hoped for in hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both in the house, pool, and the surrounding area. Thierry and Corine were very helpful in their recommendations and travel advice. Great!
Olivia TenKate - GB - 08/08

We have just returned to rainy grey Scotland, having spent six nights at La Grande Lauzade. Our bedrooms, Magnotis and Cabernet were perfect. They were very spacious, cool and quiet, with lots of character in their tasteful decoration. The bathrooms were great, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. It was lovely having our ample breakfasts on the terrace, going out for the day, and then returning to the comfort of the rooms. The guesthouse is easy travelling from the resorts of the coast, (St Maxime is a must!). There are lots of small villages, markets and restaurants in the area to be explored. We thank Corine and Thierry for their super hospitality, and wish them and their family all the best. Hopefully we will be back in the area again some day .
Janice OMAN - Scotland - 08/08

We spent a wonderful three nights at La Grande Lauzade. Our room - Magnotis - was extremely comfortable and the hospitality was very generous. Merci beaucoup!
Sami McCabe - GB - 08/08

Many Thanks to Thierry and Corine for making our stay at La Grande Lauzade so relaxing and laid back. Your hospitality was great, the breakfasts fantastic and the room was lovely. Your advice of eating at the restaurant just nearby on the road into Le Luc is great - a fantastic place to eat. Two things I would suggest to improve the room - air conditioning (climatisation), and also putting tiles in the area around the toilet where at present it is only wood. We would definately come back, and definately recommend you to anyone who was thinking of travelling to your area. Good luck with the baby !
Stephen & Lucy - Godstone, Surrey - GB - 08/08

Thanks for suggestions, we certainly modify this winter the toilet of Estanci. Each low season we "rebuilt" some parts of our -too big- house !
Air conditionning is not easy to built in such an old house, and we think about that as we know that each summer the temp increase... (In 50 years La Provence will looks like North Africa if we don't do something alltogether). We hope next years technology give us new ways to cool the house and protect environment in the same time.
Hope you come back and see how our 200 years old Guest House will cross a new century!
Thanks for wishes, all the best!

We loved our stay at La Grande Lauzade - the house and the room we stayed in are beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and Thierry and Corine and their family have created a lovely, convivial atmosphere for their guests. They were so friendly, relaxed and helpful. The house is also in an ideal location for visiting other places in the region so is a perfect place to stay.
Sophie Oliver - GB - 07/08

We had a really great time and enjoyed your company and wish to thank you for your help and advice with the car etc... It was really good to know that we had your support when we really needed it, much more important than home made yoghurt :-) - really thanks. All the best to you all!
Keith, Linda, Simon and Cameron - Luton - GB- 08/08

Hi There
We had a really nice stay and loved the room you give us.
Thanks again
Steve - London - GB - 07/08

Hi there Corine, Thank-you for a lovely stay at La Grande Lauzade. We enjoyed the accomodation for these reasons: The "Cabernet-Syrah" double room were very charmingly decorated, the atmosphere of the whole place was very genuine, very tranquil and beautiful. The breakfast was marvellous, and we enjoyed the other guests, and your cat (!) very much. However, unfortunately, my stay was spoilt because of the very UNCOMFORTABLE pillows, and rather hard mattress of the main bed. I was not able to sleep well at all, which was unfortunate after a long day of travelling from Italy through to France. Please do not be upset by this small critism, I just feel it is important for you to know about this, as it can be very easily rectified for future guests. I hope you are able to appreciate my comment on this matter.
Anna de Villers - South Africa - 07/08

(We always consider feedback of our guests: However, as you are the first guest in five years to COMPLAIN about our beds, we think it best to keep it like we do for the 99% of our other guests (see below) which appreciate our mattress and pillow, for more than one night stay (as it's very hard to reach a 100% satisfaction). If you had made a request for softer pillows or mattress before your visit, we could have advised before your stay. Hope you find during your next travels lot of guest houses accomodating 4 people for only one night in high season, as we did.
Kind regards, Thierry.)

We had a beautiful stay in your house. We enjoyed our holidays in the Provence. It was a fantastic stay with perfect hosts. We and our two kids enjoyed the big breakfast in the morning and the pool during the day. The feeling of the house and the family was very warm. The location of the house is excellent for visits all over the area. The place was wonderful and perfect for excursions to the sea or inland. We did a trip every day and where all impressed by the provence and the hospitality of the people in the area. We will definitly recommend the house and the region. As my profession as a tourism director in Austria I could say, that I would love to have such hosts in my region - all the best for the future and lots of guests.
Andréas Purt - Austria - 07/08

Corine and Thierry, Many thanks for a great stay, the room was wonderful, especially after a small hotel room! Might I make a suggestion? Could you put together a pamphlet outlining what is to be seen and done close to La Grande Lauzade? The official publications are OK, but something more localised would be useful for overseas visitors. Also...where were the lavender field that one sees on your website?? au revoir
Michael and Deborah Atkins - Sydney - Australian 07/08

(It was a pleasure to welcome you home. A lot of great associations make a lot of good work to gathered informations about the country around in several leaflets, at our guests disposal. We are at our guests disposal too, to inform, give devices, talk about what to do around our Guest Home, or even further. By making our own leaflets, we would make a similar pamphlet that would not provide more information, ...but would waste more paper!
The lavender flowers that you see on top of each page of our website (we never talk or show Lavender "fields") are easy to find, on the car park, and near the swimming pool. Such a shame you ask me this question now you are back home!: The nearest place to find fields of lavender is north side of "Lac de Ste Croix" near canyon of Verdon, but no regret: the flower time lasts from middle of june to middle of july, so probably you were home a bit too late to see the flowers!
Kind regards, Corine)

It was very pleasant stay with comfortable beds and peaceful nights; the feeling of Provance. The hosts were very kind and helpful. Hope we will be able to come back.
Mirjana Djuric - Toronto, Canada - 07/08

Thierry and Corine treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Cabernet and were very pleased with room. Everything was just as we expected from looking on their excellent website. Next to the hospitality, the best part of the stay was the morning breakfast. I hope we have the opportunity to visit again someday and would recommend their B&B to all of my friends and family.

It was wonderful to stay amongst the vineyards and to be able to self cater in Le Petit Ferme. We were very comfortable and enjoyed eating outdoors and playing petanque. The shutters darkened the rooms beautifully. A very pretty, friendly place. One little bit of feedback: the towels were too highly perfumed. Thankyou, we love Provence
Patricia & Jim Reid - Tasmania - Australia - 06/08 (nota: towels are not included in self catering, and we offer it for you! ;-)

We had a lovely sunny day sightseeing on the way. We had a nice stay at your home, thank you so much...

Dear Corine & Thierry,
Thank you again for a wonderful, memorable stay in France. My mother and I had a most memorable trip. We believe that our stay at your home was one of the highlights of our visit! We enjoyed your hospitality immensely!
Yours,
Linda Wieczorek - Claremont, California USA - 05/08

Dear Corine and Thierry,
Thank you very much for for our wonderful holiday. We were en route to Grasse and whilst our stay was short we enjoyed the warmth of your hospitality and look forward to the possibility of returning in the future. The house has been beautifully preserved and meeting the other guests from Italy and Strasbourg around the table was a great cultural experience - and the breakfast was wonderful too!
Kind Regards,
Nick Oakland - UK - 08/07

We have spent a wonderful weekend in your beautiful house. The room was romantic, full of atmosphere and exactly what we hoped for when going for a long weekend to the Provence. You have a lovely family, and we hope to see you again at your house. It's definitely a unique experience sleeping in a house so old and with so much character. Thanks for the good care (and terrific french breakfasts), en tot de volgende keer (a la prochaine!).
David and Suzanne - Amsterdam, Les Pays Bas - 08/07

Hello Corine, hello Thierry,
After a nice day in Grasse we made it back home at some point. I wanted to thank you for our great stay at La Grande Lauzade. You really have a lovely home and I am glad that you made it open to the public, sort of. We had a short but very nice time.
So I hope that the weather, guests and your baby are all still fine and hope to see you soon.
Philip Faber - Switzerland - 07/07

I have to agree with the other comments - we had a lovely stay with Corine and Thierry and only wish it could've been longer ! They were so welcoming and really made us feel at home. Would recommend staying there to anyone. Emilia sends her love to the puppies and kitten (and so do we !)
Catherine, Jon and Emilia Hine - Coventry, UK - 07/07

This was our second visit in 3 years, and we enjoyed the town, the home, and your kind hospitality anew. Do not be surprised if we ask to come see you again when the winds return us to France.
James LeBas - Austin, Texas USA- 07/07

Dear Corine and Thierry,
What a wonderful place you have. Your house and it's surroundings are beautiful. And your hospitality is superb. We enjoyed our stay at La Grande Lauzade very much.
Unfortunately we only stayed for four days. But we will defenitely visit again soon...(and buy one of your puppy Ridgebacks!) (in dutch for your questbook!)
Dear Corine and Thierry,
Kind regards,
Myrle & Casper - Nederlands - 06/07

Our only regret about our visit to La Grande Lauzade is that we couldn't stay longer.
This was our first visit to Provence, so we spent most of our two days touring around in cars when we could have been sitting in shade or floating in the pool. The old stone house sits surrounded by vineyards, with low hills in the distance. Our three rooms were spacious, cool and attractively furnished, very nice to come back to after long days on the road. The touristic highlights of our brief visit were the nearby Cistercian abbey in Le Thoronet and the breath-taking mountain landscapes of the Verdon Gorges, but our greatest pleasure was having continental breakfasts — these were advertised these as "copious," and they were, with wonderful breads fetched fresh from the bakery — outside every morning at a shaded table easily big enough for our group of six. We fell in love with Corine's homemade yogurt but unfortunately could not take her or her yogurt-maker home with us. Nor could we carry off delightful toddler Lou-Anne. Thierry was our breakfast-server and advice-giver, and he graciously welcomed us when we came back later in the evening than we should have. A word to the wise: When Thierry assures you that a particular road is easy, take it with a grain of salt; we found out just before we left that the guy's a former road racer!
We felt very much at home with the Varipatis family. On our next visit, we'll spend more time "hanging out," drinking wine and reading Proust by the pool.

Gianni e Luca thank you for your hospitality and they enjoyed themselves with their motorbikes.
If they come back again to this circuit they sicurely will come back also to your B&B.
Thank you for you kindness,
Best regards,

Dear Corine and Thierry and Lou-Anne,
Your family & home is absolutely fantastic! La Grande Lauzade, this old house, is full of memories and decorated with very good taste.
Our romantic room Magnotis was very cozy and kept fresh all day long. And the sweet breakfasts made us feel truly French. Bathing into the swimming pool, listening to 'les cigales' in the mid of the day, after a ride with the bike through the countryside, it was just perfect!
We spend a couple of days feeling wonderfully in love and relaxed here. Naturally, as Dan agrees, we should have stayed here more than 2 nights.
Thank you for the smiles you put on our faces and the happiness you brought to our souls. Keep on caring about each other, 'cause you are great, guys!

Hi Corine, Thierry, Lou-Anne and Rémi,
Thank you for making our few days with you so memorable. Our whole family felt so welcomed by you it seemed like we had known each other for years. We truly felt like we were in our own house, and appreciate everything you did to make our stay comfortable in spite of having a sick child with us. We will definitely try to make it back there, and hopefully with a couple friends next time. If you decide to come to Rome--or Melbourne--please be sure to let us know!
Mike, Jeanette, Quill and Calum - Italy - 2-5 June, 2006

Thank you for making it such a pleasant stay at La Grande - My husband (Simon) would like to bring me to stay for a few days perhaps when we get a little more free time! he thought it was a beautiful area and your hospitality was superb.
Thankyou very much.
Kind regards

Hallo!
We have been at your Guest house one night, just before to go to the Circuit du Var with our motorbikes.
Our ideas while going away? We have to come here again just to stay here, even without the bike!
Everything has the right touch to make you feel that you are on holiday and, in the meantime you feel at home.
Good atmosphere, lovely rooms, nice breakfast in the morning in a warm kitchen. Corine and Thierry are very kind and they transfer their wellbeing to their guests.
Thank you, we'll be back, sooner or later
Alberto & Delia - Italy - 03/06

Bonsoir, Thierry, Corine, Lou-an and Rémi.

We hoop to see you again sometime. Maybe on a concert? ;).

Bonjour, Thierry and Corine.
It is hard to believe that it has been a month since we had the pleasure of spending the night at La Grande Lazaude. The Lucs certainly enjoyed Le Luc! La Grande Lauzaude is a little bit of Paradise in the heart of French wine country. Your warmth, hospitality, and sense of humor helped make our short stay here the highlight of our trip. We hope you, your children, dogs, cats, and donkeys are all happy and healthy.
Merci,
Sue Storts, Rich Luc, Steve Luc, August Luc - Tulsa - USA

Thierry:
We arrived OK to our home and found everything fine.
Thanks for your interest and for being an excelent hosts in our visit to Le Luc.
Best wishes for you and your family.
Jorge Cons - Mexico

Hello Corine & Thierry,_
Last weekend Angela and I had a great adventure driving a Formula 1 car on the AGS - Circuit du Var, but it would not have been as wonderful if we had not stayed at your guest house. Such a lovely historic place to rest, it is absolutely wonderful. We particularly liked your warm and friendly welcome that made us feel at home right away. It is a shame our visit only lasted for two nights.
Being the first guests after the birth of you little girl made it a bit special for us, because it was our first trip without our little doughter Micky. We wish you all the best with the guest house and hope to be able to visit you again some day!
Angela Vervoorn & Aldo Luinge - The Nederlands

We think of our wonderful visit last summer and would like to see both of you again. We will let anyone we know who will visit the Le Luc area to be certain and stay at La Grande Lauzade.
Merry Christmas.
Wylla and Luke LeBas, Austin, Texas, U.S.A.

Wonderful. Magnifique. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
James LeBas and family

I frequently remember our time a le Lazaude with much fondness and hope to visit again sometime soon.
Merry Christmas!
Marie LeBas

Corine & Thierry - Seeing the pictures reminds me of the wonderful time we spent with you this summer in your charming home. One night really wasn't long enough to savour all the delights of the area, but we really enjoyed your fantastic hospitality and your beautiful house, so steeped in history. It was certainly the highlight of our trip down through France and, Corine - your tapenade is definitely the best I have ever tasted!
Best wishes to you all.

Lafayette, me voici! Thierry picked me up at the airport in Marseille. Daddy was with him. We drove for about an hour through picturesque Provençal countryside, with hills, mountains (with tunnels through them) and lots of yellow and purple wildflowers. We're staying in Le Luc at La Grande Lauzade, which is an old, converted priory. The priory was in turn was built partly from the stones of a medieval church, parts of which are still intact. But for the occasional passenger train that flies by, it is very quiet here. We're staying in a couple of rooms of what I gather is the Varipatis' home. They served us sandwiches and wine in the cool, dry evening outdoors. The original shape and footings of the old church are still plain, though it must have been small. The climate seems to be much more pleasant than back home, but the terrain bears some resemblance to the Texas hill country in its ruggedness.
Thierry and I exchanged gifts ± I presented him with an Asleep at the Wheel CD, and he gave me a bottle of the Lauzade wine. Evidently, this property has been in Corine Varipatis' family for several generations. The jet lag is now taking hold, and I am calling it a day. .
The old town is cramped, with narrow streets and ancient three-story buildings. We also saw a house where Thomas Jefferson stayed when he visited Le Luc, and the street named for Apollinaire Lebas. The houses are centuries old, and for the most part, look it.
But the people are completely modern and have been unbelievably friendly. Our landlord, Mr. Varipatis, has driven us all over creation without even being asked. I also swam in their pool, then we shared a glass or two.
The daylight lasts long into the evening hours, and not being one to waste an open bottle of (you guessed it) Domaine de la Lauzade, I spent a while sitting alone on the old footings of the old church, watching the dusk seep in. From there, one can see the vineyards and the hills and the old tile roofs, red earth, and lots of Provençal sky. I thought about the Old Man and what he must have thought about this land when he was here. Of course, great men seldom feel anything other than ambition, and so sentimental moments were probably unknown to him. But it is to him, and to this place, that I owe some measure of my existence and my roots.
This morning, before we left La Grande Lauzade, Thierry showed me a part of their house supported by a thousand year-old wall, a Marshall Plan era tractor (that he still operates) and the old winemaking equipment under the house. Corine also showed us the old glass tile-lined fermentation tanks ± each the size of a small room ± which she used to clean from the inside as a child. I was really blown away. There seems to be no limit to the history of this place
J. Lebas
P.S. We visited the Abbey at Le Thoronet today, a six hundred year-old monastery, and liked it very much. Mama sang Avé Maria in the stone church, and the shimmering resonance inside had a great effect.
